Abstract:
After the initial stabilization of the patient and an electrical cardioversion or the administration of antiarrhythmic drugs, further treatment decisions are important to improve patient prognosis. Catheter ablation has become a mainstay in VT therapy, how- ever, it can only be performed in specialized hospital centers. For this purpose, experienced electrophysiologists of the participating centers in the Austrian VT network are available for support and to organize patient transfers. The aim of the VT network is to standardize and improve management of patients in Austria. Recommendations for the treatment of VT / electrical storm and for contacting the specialized centers are described in detail in the consensus statement of the Austrian Society of Cardiology.
