- 3D facial scanners are noninvasive devices that provide precise and detailed surface capture of craniofacial structures. They include laser scanners, structured light scanners, photogrammetry, and stereophotogrammetry. 3D facial scanners have the following qualities: they can resolve structures with sub-millimeter feature size, have a high capture rate, and can capture hard and soft tissue with the original color and texture.
