- Abstract:
- Next-generation sequencing is a modern high-throughput sequencing method, which will be also established in peripheral hospitals within the next few years. It is a useful diagnostic tool, which enables a precise genetic diagnosis for somatic mutations in tumors as well as germline mutations in hereditary cancers. This thesis aimed at investigating the possibilities of establishing meaningful areas and gen-panels for NGS diagnostics combined with genetic counseling in peripheral hospitals outside of a University Center of Human genetics. Furthermore, it is demonstrated, which issues require cooperation with a Human Genetic Center.
