- Abstract:
- In Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), neoplastic T-cells feed from chronic
inflammation. These cells are infiltrated in the skin generating lesions of progressive
severity. Lesional skin is also populated by non-malignant T-cells and other immune
cells that may play an important role in the development of this disease. This is
suggested by the fact that a treatment regime like psolaren + UVA (PUVA) in parallel
to induce clinical improvement also trigger immune tolerance and apoptosis.
Nevertheless, the role of the immunomodulatory effects of photo(chemo)therapy
remains elusive(...)
