- Abstract:
- Ninety-one statements about management and therapy of open-angle glaucoma were presented to 137 Austrian general ophthalmologists to vote and classify into 3 classes (agreement, indeterminate, disagreement) anonymously. These statements were assessed by 10 US- glaucoma experts before and published in 2008. Their results were compared to those of the Austrian ophthalmologists. Sixty-four statements (70.3%) were classified equally. In cases of different assessments (27 = 29.7%) a discussion was hold. in only 2 statements there were differences more than 1 class. The assessed statements lead to very similar results between US experts and Austrian general ophthalmologists demonstrating a high level of knowledge in glaucoma.
