Abstract:: 42 dental units in 35 dentist practices were bacteriologically examined. Legionella of the species Legionella pneumophila--SG1 could be isolated from 4 dental units. Infection can occur during inhalation of finest aerosols, which are formed during the use of dental turbines and sprays.
