- Abstract:
- In long-term treatment of children with cerebral paralysis multiple problems with compliance and motivation become evident. Very often they are caused by psychodynamic and interactional problems. Sometimes this can cause physiotherapeutic problems and may even lead to interruption of therapy. Two examples demonstrate that psychological supervision of the physiotherapist and family therapy strategies for dealing with the patient and his family as well as group supervision (Balint) can improve the situation and enable the therapist to realize interactional problems at a very early stage. So - by the help of a psychotherapeutic supervision - he/she can improve his/her handling of the situation in time.
