Abstract:: The dependence of urinary testosterone excretion on age was studied in healthy male volunteers. Furthermore, it was determined monthly over 2 years in 20 boys aged 10 to 12 years. The values obtained for urinary testosterone were compared with the parameters of somatic growth like bone age, height, weight and testicular volume. The greatest intraindividual changes in testosterone excretion were found during puberty, and also a great interindividual difference in the onset of puberty. A relatively good correlation was obtained for the mean testosterone excretion and the bone age, on the one hand, and the testicular volume of a boy on the other hand.
