- Abstract:
- During the first half of 1995 there was a regional outbreak of parvovirus infections (erythema infectiosum) in Styria, Austria. We report on 7 cases of acute parvovirus infection in pregnancy. The ultrasonographic examinations showed signs of fetal hydrops in 5 fetuses. In 3 cases percutaneous blood sampling was performed and 2 of the 3 fetuses received intrauterine blood transfusions. Five of the 7 pregnant women delivered healthy newborn at term. Two patients had abortions in the 15th and 17th week of pregnancy.
