- An officially changed schedule in psychiatric training stresses a major integration of psychotherapeutic approaches into clinical psychiatry. Detailed theoretical knowledge and therapeutical skills must be acquired in various psychotherapeutic disciplines. Psychodynamic-psychoanalytic, behavioral, and cognitive approaches are sketched regarding their basic positions in the psychopathology model, the process of therapeutic changes, the therapeutic relationship, and typical treatment modalities. Application possibilities in the setting of clinical psychiatry are also sketched.
