- Abstract:
- Hyperthermal laser Doppler flowmetry is an evoked potential of the skin blood flow stimulated by heat which has advantages in assessment of early C-fibre dysfunction in comparison to previous methods. Considering the fact, that afferent and efferent C-fibres are involved in the regulation of microcirculation, the skin blood flow regulation is investigated by means of laser Doppler flowmetry. The microcirculation is stimulated by heat and the reaction of microcirculation is assessed as a measure for the function of afferent C-fibres and the efferent sympathetic fibers. This method yields results in close correlation with electrophysiologic tests, which is not achieved with sudomotor function.
