- Abstract:
- We studied the effects of the benzodiazepine antagonists flumazenil and the unspecific physostigmine on the EEG and on multimodal evoked potentials with a multivariable monitoring system in three intensivecare patients. The monitoring system simultaneously and continuously recorded, processed and displayed a two-channel EEG, early and middle latency auditory evoked potentials, and early somatosensory evoked potentials. The effects of the two substances showed uniform reaction in spectral analysis of the EEG. However, flumazenil showed various effects on the evoked potentials.
