Abstract:
OBJECTIVES: Autonomy of patients is receiving greater acceptance in health care and prevention. Therefore, patients' and consumers' information attains greater significance. METHODS: The following study analyses the information in pamphlets on mammography aimed at consumers in Austria, in total five leaflets and two brochures. RESULTS: The results show that the information given does not support patients' informed decisions. CONCLUSIONS: The discussion lists reasons and shows ways to meet the challenges.
