- Abstract:
- The Bruckner transillumination test is a simple and efficient examination method for detecting amblyogenic risk factors. Visual acuity-relevant media opacities and changes in the fundus, including refractive errors that are noticeable from a greater examination distance, can be detected quickly and sensitively. The Bruckner test cannot replace an ophthalmological examination, but it is an excellent screening method for pediatricians and general practitioners to detect organic eye diseases and amblyopia at an early stage and provide prompt treatment.
