- Abstract:
- Of all couples in reproductive age, 1 to 3% suffer recurrent pregnancy loss. Many causative factors are discussed, but the cause remains unexplained in a substantial proportion of cases. High-quality evidence for diagnostic and treatment strategies is still lacking, often causing psychological distress to couples, and posing a major challenge to clinicians. The aim of this article is to highlight the different definitions and etiologies of recurrent pregnancy loss and to summarize the current evidence regarding workup and management based on the most recent international guidelines.
