- Abstract:
- In the context of nontrauma resuscitation room management for the care of critically ill patients, acute disturbances of vital functions are rapidly detected and treated. During the primary survey, the established ABCDE scheme is used for the structured examination of all relevant vital signs. Acute disorders are detected and treated immediately. "C-problems" represent the largest proportion of ABCDE disorders in nontraumatologic resuscitation room patients and are characterized by hemodynamic instability due to hypovolemic, obstructive, distributive, or cardiogenic forms of shock. Depending on the local care structures, nontrauma resuscitation room care in this context also includes stabilization of patients with acute coronary syndrome or after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (Cardiac Arrest Center).
