Abstract:: Laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is the gold standard of laser-assisted procedures for correction of refractive error. Technological advances and growing surgeon experience during the last decade further improved refractive accuracy and complication rate of the procedure. The aim of this article is to review the current situation of LASIK in late 2019: history, patient selection, surgical method, risks and refractive outcomes.
