- Abstract:
- Skin diseases are the second most common occupational disease group in Austria after noise-induced hearing loss. In 2015, the Austrian General Accident Insurance Institution (AUVA), in cooperation with the Medical University of Graz, began the gradual introduction of a prevention model based on the German model for patients with occupational skin diseases. From July 2018, these secondary and tertiary prevention measures will now be available to those affected throughout Austria. Due to the delayed implementation, the first figures for the "pilot federal states" are now available, approximately two and a half years after the start of the project. It can be shown that with an increasing number of reports through prevention, training and therapy, significantly more insured persons can be allowed to re-main in their chosen and learned profession while maintaining their skin health.
