Abstract:

Saliva analyses are widely used for hormone measurements, but also for drug and therapy monitoring, periodontal inflammation and human, viral or microbial nucleic acid (DNA) detection. In this review, we focus on preanalytics, and measurement techniques. Clinical applications of steroid hormone analyses are presented with regard to practical use.
