- Abstract:
- The complex network of muscle fibers in the right atrium is characterized by structural and functional heterogeneities. The influence of these heterogeneities on impulse conduction determines the activation sequence and increases with increasing heart rates. In this work we show that application of dynamic pacing protocols provokes functional heterogeneities and results in ambiguous excitation patterns due to pacing history and structure.
