- In this article, we report our observations of the natural closure of an idiopathic macular hole (IMH). Even though the natural closure of IMH is rare, we analyzed published cases to propose natural closure mechanisms of IMH. Thereby, the reestablishment is a gradual process, which can lead to a complete recovery of the foveal morphology and a functional restitutio ad integrum.
