- Abstract:
- The aim of this article is to discuss the most common esthetic complications and their treatment options within implant restorations in the anterior maxilla, such as lack of papillae, visible implant abutments, scars, and apical displacement. Surgical options include connective tissue grafts, free gingival grafts in combination with coronally advanced flaps, and the re-submergence technique. Prosthodontic options include the use of extensions, conditioning of the pen-implant mucosa by means of provisionalization, and application of artificial mucosa. A variety of options are introduced and supported by clinical cases.
