- Abstract
- This project proposal wants to combine the competence of two high impact projects to trigger synergistic effects for a market validation of a high quality, well accepted and utilised teledermatological service.
On the one hand there is www.telederm.org: a proven system of easy and affordable access to an expert consultation network with nearly 400 expert dermatologists in over 40 countries - on the other hand www.dermis.net: a highly frequented and reliable source of quality information. DermIS has a clearly defined and steadily growing user group. 300.000 users monthly are recruited from all over the world - 50% coming from Europe. Beside medical experts (dermatologists, GPs, pediatricians, nurse, etc.) half of them are patients. The goal is to guide DermIS' users to Telederm's experts and vice versa to satisfy an identified user need: the demand for individual expert help.
TeledermIS will provide a network of information and consultation services, which will enable physicians and also citizens as the point of care to obtain support from a dermatological expert community in diagnosing neoplastic, inflammatory, and cosmetic skin diseases.
