I am a biologist interested in pathogenesis of myeloid malignancies. For over last 10 years I have been trained in basic research to design in-vitro and in-vivo assays for investigating the mechanisms underlying malignant hematopoiesis. In my doctoral thesis I have worked on ccharacterization of the target cell of transformation in CALM/AF10 fusion gene induced leukemia using a tissue inducible knock-in mouse model. I had developed a bone marrow transplantation model in mice to test BMI1 as a potential collaborator in CALM/AF10 mediated leukemogenesis. As a postdoctoral researcher, I have extended my interest more in the field of AML genomics and have gained more experience in analysing clinical data of AML/MDS patients. In my current project, I am exploring role of tumor suppressor TP53 gene in myeloid neoplasm using CRISPR mediated genome engineering in primary hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and humanized mouse models..
