Expertise
- Als Facharzt für Kinder und Jugendheilkunde sowie Radiologie gilt mein Interesse der Kinderradiologie in allen ihren Facetten. Ein spezieller Fokus von mir ist die Invasivität radiologischer Untersuchungen in der Kinderradiologie zu minimieren und daher auch habe ich mich ausführlich dem Strahlenschutz sowie der Geräteweiterentwicklung in Hard und Software beschäftigt. Ein weitere Schwerpunkt meines Interesse ist die digitale Bildverarbeitung. In diesem Bereich war ich auch jahrelang für die medizin-technische Industrie als Berater tätig - ua für 3D Bildgebung und virtuelle Realität sowie die Anpassung verschiedenster Bildrekonstruktionstechniken an pädiatrische PatientInnen. Für meine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Department of Informatics, University of Szeged / HU wurde ich mit einem Ehrendoktorat in Informatik ausgezeichnet. Seit Jänner 2023 bin ich in Pension und arbeite als Kinderradiologie in nicht akademischen Einheiten, bin Vortragender auf Kongressen und Kursen sowie Freelancer für Kinderradiologie und medinzinischer Informatik.
