Fields of expertise
- Christian Fazekas is researching and teaching in the field of basics and implementation of biopsychoscial medicine. Christian Fazekas' current focus is on the development and validation of innovative biopsychosocial assessment instruments for research and medical care. These include the following tools:
1) the Psychosomatic Competence Inventory (PSCI). It allows further exploration of the interrelation between interoceptive awareness, cognition, bodily self-regulatory ability and health-related behavior in healthy adults and patients groups, e.g., patients with functional disorders, with endocrine disorders, patients with long COVID, or patients recovering from surgery (Wien Klin Wochenschr. 2020).
2) the Psychosomatic Assessment Health Disc (PAHD). This visual tool facilitates the consideration of biopsychosocial factors during doctor-patient communication (Wien Klin Wochenschr. 2021).
